Northern California interior designer Kerrie Kelly founded Kerrie Kelly Design Lab in 1995. She is an award-winning interior designer, author and multi-media consultant, helping national brands reach the interior design market. She is a certified interior designer with an Interior Design degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
She is a Member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) and IIDA (International Interior Design Association). She is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), sitting on the Advisory Board for Eskaton’s Livable Design and is an avid representative and speaker for Livable Design’s initiatives. She has authored two books: Home Decor: A Sunset Design Guide and My Interior Design Kit, with Pearson Professional and Career Education. This year she will add California Style: A Wine + Design Tour to her authored library and complement it with a series of webisodes on the subject.
She is one of six national Subject Matter Experts (SME) for Home Depot and is the Interior Design National Spokesperson for Zillow, Inc. serving as a member of the Digs Design Advisory Board and contributing monthly articles for their website, reaching Yahoo!, Forbes and Wall Street Journal. She also writes a monthly column for Sparefoot and Style Media Group.
Kerrie has received several awards, including the California Paints Exterior Palette Challenge, and the Jason Wu for Brizo Challenge. She was named the 2012 recipient of ASID’s Nancy Vincent McClelland Merit Award for Interior Design Education and has received several local ASID residential design awards. She has received Houzz’s Best of Remodeling Award in 2012 as well as Best of Design and Customer Satisfaction Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
As one of five national Trendspotters for Cosentino, Kerrie continues to forecast and identify the latest in interior design world-wide while assisting the solid surface company with their product development. Her latest international collaboration was unveiled at the 2015 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas. In addition to her counter top, Kerrie partnered with TileBar to recently launch a coordinating tile line at ICFF in New York. Called ‘Blue My Mind’, Kerrie’s tile collection features six unique tiles inspired by her travels and inspirations like jewelry, architecture, and her favorite design elements.
Kerrie and her team are currently partnering with top industry brands like Robern, Zeev Lighting, Guildery (now Minted), and Feizy to produce collaborative products, collections, and ambassador relationships. Kerrie Kelly Design Lab will be launching a rug line in Spring 2016 and a lighting collection in January 2017.
Kerrie is also the Creative Director of an emerging online furnishings brand, 42nd Street. The company launched this year at High Point Market in North Carolina and is currently in its beginning stages.
