After having held a long-term, high-level position with one of the world’s top technology and financial companies, Ami Austin decided to follow her lifelong professional dream and become an interior designer.

More than 10 years ago in Memphis, Tenn., Ami founded Ami Austin Interior Design, where she serves as principal designer and president. She is an award-winning interior designer who has become known for a sophisticated and intriguing evolution of style.

Ami has a wide-range talent for transforming homes to suit the personalities and lifestyles of her clients by adapting interiors with well-sourced design elements as well as custom-made furnishings, flooring options, accessories, and objets d’art.

With an innate sense of place, Ami also designs commercial and hospitality spaces that provide businesses with ease of use and flow for their employees, customers and guests.

Her passion for design is what drives the expression of her work, through innovative color, textures, fabrics, and patterns that give life to each project. Ami creates rooms and living areas with local-to-global style, evoking vintage, modern or transitional interiors depending upon her clients’ preferences.

Ami is sought after for her wealth of design knowledge and unique, creative, comfortable, and functional designs. Her passion for design and pleasing her clients is of paramount importance. For more than a decade, she has developed connections and working relationships with the world’s best craftsmen and select to-the-trade lines. She is known for her contemporary, transitional and traditional style elements, and ensures her finished projects reflect elegant, world-class, and one-of-a-kind results.

Ami’s work can be seen in prominent households and businesses in Memphis as well as throughout the United States. Her eye for detail shows in each of her projects, paying careful attention to the necessities for achieving inspiring and beautiful interiors. Ami’s areas of design expertise are extensive. From form and function to furniture and fabrics, she uses adaptable design techniques to personalize each of her client’s spaces.

Ami’s design studio is called P & B Design Source, a design, furniture, and accessory studio in downtown Memphis. It is an independent business and subsidiary under the auspices of Ami Austin Interior Design. The studio provides a diverse resource of commercial and residential interior products for the interior design trade and the general consumer public. A new bespoke line of merchandise personally designed by Austin under the brand name Parker Lauren by Ami Austin will be showcased at the studio as well. Austin also will be providing interior design consultations and planning at the studio for her clientele.

Ami, also a noteworthy speaker on the subject of design and home staging, is an Associate Member of the Interior Design Society (IDS) and a member of the Better Business Bureau with an “A+” rating. She is a certified redesign and home staging specialist with I.R.I.S. (Interior Redesign Industry Specialists), where she served as Ambassador for the State of Tennessee, and a past president of RESA (Real Estate Staging Association) of Tennessee.

Ami’s work and expertise have been published in numerous magazines and publications such as Interior Design, Romantic Homes, Home Accents Today, Interiors + Sources, Design Journal, Home Furnishings Business, Kitchen and Bath Business, Kitchen Bath Trends, Furniture World, Furniture Today, myTrends, Editor at Large, Custom Home, Architect, Architizer, Residential Architect, At Home Memphis & Mid South, Memphis Magazine, Memphis Business Journal, and Memphis Daily News.

In addition, Ami has served as a judge for local design competitions and serves her community through charitable donations, contributing her time philanthropically, and helping sponsor charitable events through Ami Austin Interior Design.
