Episode 296: Emilie Munroe

Listen to this episode

Principal Emilie Munroe describes her work as an interior designer as that of a translator, channeling a client’s personality and lifestyle into physical reality.  She cultivated her talents under the mentorship of Jay Jeffers, developing a singular gift for creating thoughtful and unexpected interiors.  Emilie was named a House Beautiful Next Wave designer in October 2016.

Drawing inspiration from the client-centric field of fashion, she admires designers like Gwen Stefani, Jenna Lyons and Kate Spade for their distinctive personal and lifestyle brands that expertly balance form and function.

With 15 years of experience working on projects ranging from urban high-rise apartments to suburban homes to rural estates, Emilie ascribes to no signature aesthetic.  Her signature is found in the collaborative spirit, attention to detail, and joie de vivre cultivated by her studio for every project. Working with a curated team of craftsmen, artists and installers, Emilie creates personal and luxurious spaces that embody her belief that a home should be the perfect backdrop for the life lived inside.

Emilie’s work has been celebrated by Rue, Lonny, Apartment Therapy, Redbook, San Francisco magazine, SF Cottages & Gardens, Luxe Interiors + Design, and ElleDecor.com.  Look for her designs in Sunset and California Home + Design magazines in 2017.
