Interior designers most special gift is the ability to visualize a space, before it is built. Although conveying the creation to a client may be as important, responsible vendors are also a key component to the overall outcome. The Marlaina Tech interview clearly exhibits these gifts in the details, and the passion for her profession. Clients see that immediately, before any “velvet fabric”, or wall covering is chosen. Residential, and commercial projects can bring forth new dynamics at every turn, having the design ability is important, and connected with the passion is most certainly a game changer. I think if a professional designer like Marlaina had to “hire” a designer for their own space (Awesome question btw) they would suddenly find themselves re-arranging things long after the workers have gone home.

Nice interview. Love the idea of asking each designer whom he or she would hire for his/her home. #commanderinchic
