“Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.” – Denis Waitley
I’ve always struggled with spelling. Ask any of my teachers.
So yesterday’s misspelling of a guest’s name sent me spinning back to those childhood memories and to the pain in which they are framed in my mind.
Funny how all those years later that pain is vivid and seems so real.
But the take-away is that a memory is just a memory and if I choose not to indulge in it’s deep pit of sticky residue I’m able to stay focused on the work at hand.
If you’re struggling with a memory or a current challenge (can’t get that color right in the guest bedroom)….keep trying (thank goodness for paint samples) and never give up. If we stay focused we will in the day!
I choose to stay focused.
I hope you will too.
